Who you are hiring
IXL is a father-and-son practice. That is a smaller operation than some of the national firms, and it is deliberate: the person who scopes your survey is the person who scans your site and writes your report. Nothing gets handed to a subcontractor, and nothing gets interpreted by someone who was never there.
We are certified thermographers. That matters more than it sounds like it should, because the difference between a useful survey and an expensive folder of orange pictures is entirely in the interpretation — knowing what a given temperature difference means for that component, at that load, in those conditions.

Findings you can act on
Our aim is to give you the knowledge and insight to improve safety, optimize energy efficiency, and protect your investment. A survey that tells you everything is fine is a good outcome. A survey that finds three things and ranks them so you know which one to fix first is a better one.
We would rather deliver a report your electrician can act on without calling us than one that requires us to explain it.
Both sides
Commercial and residential
We work both sides. Commercial and industrial thermography — electrical, mechanical, roofing, envelope — is this practice. Home inspections and residential thermal imaging run under IXL Home Inspections, with the same people and the same instruments.

Where we work
We are based in Utah, and most facility work is along the Wasatch Front. Commercial and industrial jobs travel, though — across the Mountain West and nationally where the scope justifies it. Multi-site portfolio programs are worth a conversation regardless of geography.
